coDiagnostiX™ for Guided Implant Surgery
Used in conjunction with a patients CT scan, coDiagnostiX pre-surgical treatment planning software is designed to make implant insertions faster, easier, safer, and more precise. The three-dimensional software correlates with more than 26 implant manufacturers and enables the dental team to measure and plan implant placements, as well as any necessary bone grafting prior to surgery.
CT Scan & Surgical Template Fabrication Workflow
MASTER MODEL FABRICATION
The master model represents the patient situation and is the basis for the production of the scanning template and surgical stent. Please take impression using POLYVINYL SILOXANE impression material, making sure to capture full extension of palate, ridges, and flanges.
SCAN TEMPLATE FABRICATION
The scan template contains information about the desired prosthetic. The scan template has to be connected to the templiX plate containing three reference pins with the gonyX™ in order to ensure the link between digital implant planning and surgical template fabrication. Diagnostic wax-up completed, as needed, prior to CT scan template fabrication.
SCAN APPLIANCE TRY-IN
Verification of scanning appliance is critical. The CT appliance should fit in the mouth passively, but firmly, without micro-movement. Should it be necessary, minor adjustments may be made in the operatory or new impression taken and sent to CDT for remake of scan appliance.
The patient is scanned wearing the scan template with a commercially available 3D CT/DVT scanner. The scanning process can be CT and DVT devices that provide imaging carried out with most commercially available information according to the widely accepted DICOM standard. Have patient firmly bite on to cotton roll to establish complete, accurate seating of scan appliance.
DIAGNOSTICS & 3D IMPLANT PLANNING
Using the coDiagnostiX™ planning software, the implant is positioned with respect to the patient’s anatomy and the desired prosthetic outcome.
Conference between those concerned will evaluate and make appropriate changes to proposed surgical treatment plan pre-determined by CT scan. After agreement of the implant planning, the placing doctor completes request for surgical guide. Script must include Implant System and approval of plan acceptance must be initialed.
SURGICAL TEMPLATE FABRICATION
The surgical template is produced with the Straumann® gonyX™ according to the template plan that is provided by coDiagnostiX™ for each implant. The scan template is reworked to produce the surgical stent containing the surgical sleeves that guide the surgical instruments and the implant. surgical treatment plan pre-determined by CT scan. After agreement of the implant planning, the placing doctor completes request for surgical guide. Script must include Implant System and approval of plan acceptance must be initialed.
GUIDED SURGERY/IMPLANT INSERTION
After fixing the surgical template in the patient's mouth, the implant bed can be prepared with the guided instruments followed by guided implant insertion. The surgical protocol provided by the planning software indicates which instruments are required to prepare each implant site.
